Clean Carfax Report
This 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG Black Series was purchased new in California. The car now shows 18k miles and is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 which sends drive rearward via a paddle-shifted seven-speed automatic transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. The car is finished in black over black leather and features H&R springs, floating rear rotors, stainless steel brake hoses, and black powdercoated factory wheels with red accents. The seller has also added a carbon fiber Vorsteiner rear wing, carbon fiber interior trim, and more detailed in the listing. This CLK63 AMG Black Series is offered with removed factory springs, brake rotors, and brake hoses, records from the seller’s ownership, factory literature, a Valentine One, a clean Carfax report.
Black Series cars featured a track 3″ wider than the standard CLK and were equipped with DTM-style fender flares, deeper valences, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, and carbon fiber-reinforced front and rear aprons. This example is finished in black (040), and a carbon fiber Vorsteiner spoiler has been installed in place of the included factory item. The car has also been fitted with carbon fiber mirror shells, painted front bumper reflectors, and a black-finished grille. Clear protective film has been applied to the front bumper cover, headlight lenses, and leading edges of the rear flares.
Factory 19″ wheels have been powdercoated in black with red AMG lettering, rim stripes, and center caps, and were recently mounted with new Toyo Proxes Sport tires. The brake calipers are finished in red with black AMG logos, and the car is fitted with multi-piece floating rear brake rotors, Teflon-coated stainless steel brake hoses, and a set of H&R springs and wheel spacers. The factory springs, brake hoses, and rear brake rotors are included.
The cabin is upholstered in black leather with carbon fiber trim. Black Series cars omitted the rear seats in favor of lightweight carpets, and the seller has added a carbon fiber shift knob, shifter surround, rear console, glove box trim, interior door trim, door handles, and window switch surrounds. Factory equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, navigation, and Harman-Kardon sound. A Valentine One radar detector plug is shown behind the rear view mirror.
A flat-bottomed steering wheel with a carbon fiber and Alcantara rim is backed by a pair of aluminum shift paddles, and the car is fitted with a set of aluminum Brabus pedal covers. Instrumentation consists of a 200-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for fuel level and water temperature. Just over 18k miles are shown on the digital odometer.
The 6.2-liter M156 V8 was hand assembled by AMG and was rated at 500 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 465 lb-ft of torque at 5,250 rpm when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed AMG SpeedShift automatic transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. The seller reports that service records are available, and an oil and filter change was performed in preparation for sale.
Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below, including photos of the brakes and suspension components with the wheels removed.
Factory literature is included, as is a binder of documentation, a first aid kit, battery tender, license plate filler panel, and a Valentine One radar detector.
